Join and Support the Friends:

  • We greatly appreciate your gift. Your membership fee and donations to our operating budget directly support our children's and music programs among other initiatives. 
  • We are devoted to helping the library and making a difference in our community. Donations help us achieve this goal.
  • For a gift of $15 or more, you can enjoy a one-year membership.
  • Your donation of more than this amount lets us do more for the library and helps us keep membership affordable for more in our community. 

Your membership is especially meaningful this year as we need to demonstrate strong public support to obtaining the major grants we need to fund the new library. Our goal is to have 400 active members by year's end.

Your year-end contribution can help us continue our book giveaways, re-launch the music program locally, purchase e-books, and continue the library programs that we support in the Newark area while the building is closed. We seek to raise $12,500 by year's end.

Join the Legacy of Reading Society

This Society recognizes friends who have included the Friends of the Newark Free Library in their estate plans. Generally, these planned gifts are unrestricted and spent at the direction of the library director and the Friends Board on library priorities.

To join, simply email the Friends and inform us that you have

• Named the Friends of the Newark Free Library as a beneficiary in your will, living trust or estate plan or instructions to your family.

• Named the Friends of the Newark Free Library as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, other financial asset, or insurance policy.

Legacy of Reading Society members will have their names displayed on a plaque in the library. They will also receive the same benefits as annual members of the Friends—a newsletter subscription and invitation to the annual brunch and performance event.
