Who are the Friends of the

Newark Free Library?

  • We are book lovers, information seekers, readers, listeners, music and movie buffs.
  • We are young and old, with varying interests and backgrounds.
  • We treasure ideas and value the public library as a vital community resource.  
  • We believe libraries are an important community resource.
 

The Newark Library Hours

The library is currently closed, but is now providing phone service Monday through Wednesday from 10 am - 7 pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm.


The book drop is now open and you may return your library materials any time. Please note that returned items will be quarantined for 3 days before they are checked in.


Libraries are offering curbside pickup service by appointment on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am - 6:30 pm, and on Saturday from 10 am - 4:30 pm. You may place items on hold by speaking to a staff person at the information desk or by using the library catalog. Please visit our website at nccde.org/Newark for more information.

Newark Free Library knows that it's an annual tradition for many of our patrons to attend the First State Ringers holiday concert at the library.  This year, First State Ringers have asked us to share this information: 


We are very excited to announce we will be recording a Christmas concert this season!  We will be recording at Westminster Presbyterian Church in their beautiful sanctuary.
